Toyota Recall for Gas Pedal sticking issues

I like Toyota, they discover a problem, and they step up to the plate and announce a plan to fix it. Recalling and holding production on 270,000 effected vehicles Also this is a very rare condition, but I like to keep my clients informed. If you find the pedal sticks Toyota recommends applying the brakes, pulling over, shut off car and have it towed to be repaired. Do not drive it until it is fixed I called my Toyota dealer to inquire about repair, and they are waiting for the parts, but offered to inspect the pedal for wear. Cars effected: Some 2009-2010 Rav4, 2009-2010 Matrix, not sure if the GM twin Vibe is effected yet. 2005-2010 Avalon, 2007-2010 Camry, 2009-2010 Corolla, 2010 Highlander, 2007-2010 Tundra, and the 2008-2010 Sequoia Cars Not Effected at this time are: All Lexus cars, Sienna vans, Tacoma trucks, Venza, Solara, Yaris, Hybrid Prius, Hybrid Camry, Hybrid Highlanders, and Land Cruiser. Toyota’s fix from there web site, is to repair the issue with a precision cut s ... read more

TPMS Huh?

TPMS, what is it and what does it do? Well we all know that maintaining proper tire pressure saves gas right?..RIGHT? well it can also save lives..by warning of a potenial tire blow out and this is where Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems come to earn there space on the dash board, well the warning lamp any way. Basically speaking it like the name says Monitor Tire Pressure, but how? There are a few systems out there from mild to wild, some use the existing Anti-lock Brake System to measure Tire speed [how fast it turns] and if the tire pressure drops due to a puncture that wheel will turn faster as the circumference gets smaller, inexpensive, gets the job done, or meets the mandate, but not precise, the other system is more reliable and with that comes expense, it has a stand alone computer [TPMS Module] and 4 or 5 [spare tire] sensors inside the tire ... read more
